| IAI Seminar participation in Singapore
The NPA (Norwegian Association of Consulting Architects) supports PLACEBO EFFECTS for attendance at the International IAI seminars on BIM (Building Information Modeling) in Singpore in early November.
IAI - the International Association of Interoperability works to achieve interoperability among the software applications for the Building Community. From 28th of October until November 4th a series of technical workshops, board meetings and seminars will be held by IAI in Singapore. These meetings partially coincides with the Official Norwegian State visit to Singapore, and participants from the Norwegian group of professionals from the building and construction industry in Norway will be taking part in both the official State Visit as well as the seminars.
Kim Baumann Larsen of PLACEBO EFFECTS has previosuly taken part in a Norwegian project - IFG - an adaptation of the International IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) for GIS (Geographic Information Systems) as an architect representative (NPA). For more information on the IFC for GIS project see the project page.
Of particular interest will be the presentations at the
ITM workshop on Building Code Checking and the
Singapore IAI Industry Day where the cutting edge systems developed and implemented by Building and Construction Authorities in Singapore will be demonstrated.
Upon return to Norway a report on the seminars will be published by Baumann Larsen along with pertinent links and references.
Architecture Record has a recent article on BIM - Building Information Modeling, and why it isn't quite there ... yet.
For more information see the IAI Calendar and NPA.
