Six international architecture studios were invited for a competition for the new townhall for Ajman. a-lab together with migrant and Zinc interior architects and Multiconsult/13.3 landscape architecture won with imaging provided by Placebo Effects. The project is separated into a 16 floor highrise for the administration and a lower building for the public sentered around an outdoor courtyard shaded by trees.
About Ajmān
Ajman is the smallest member state of the United Arab Emirates, with an area of just 260 square kilometres. Its capital is Ajmān. Located along the Persian Gulf, it also controls Masfut and Manama, two small, inland enclaves that are primarily agricultural. The population of approximately 235,000 is located mainly in the capital, Ajmān.
